Late Pickup

We had locked up after the CSNY film. The people who run the building were already on their way out, in the parking lot. The building was locked.

A woman walked up, asking if we'd found car keys. We had, three hours earlier, and no one had come to claim them. It turned out she had parked far away and had made it all the way back to her car without them.

We were in the process of turning her away when a Sundance van drove up. The driver was looking for a cel phone. As it turned out, the super for the building was still in the parking lot, and he let us back in.

Sure enough, we had the phone and the keys. I made two people happy by staying after midnight. In return, I got a ride home in the van.
